Psalm 131

Psalm 131
Israel’s Humility of Heart when Restored to Jehovah

Psalm 131. In this Psalm we have the humility of heart that will characterize the restored and repentant nation of Israel. They are content now, hoping in the Lord. The transformation is immense; “what hath God wrought!”

PSALM 131
A Song of degrees. Of David.
1 Jehovah, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty; neither do I exercise myself in great matters, and in things too wonderful for me.
2 Surely I have restrained and composed my soul, like a weaned child with its mother: my soul within me is as a weaned child.
3 Let Israel hope in Jehovah, from henceforth and for evermore.
